THE RACE
GFNY World Championship NYC is the world’s most international cycling race, with a peloton traveling to NYC from over 90 countries to take on the challenging 100-mile race course. The scene that GFNY brings together during race week is as diverse, colorful and warm as the race venue itself.

RACE WEEK
Race week activities are centered around the George Washington Bridge and Fort Lee, New Jersey. The GFNY Village location is easily accessible to both New York City and the beautiful Hudson Valley that unfolds before you on race day. Group Rides, the Welcome Zone, Registration and Packet Pickup, NYC Bike Expo and the Bike Zone are all located in the GFNY Village.

THE ROUTE
On race day, you are treated to a start on the iconic George Washington Bridge, the world’s busiest bridge, which gets closed to traffic especially for GFNY to provide you a once-in-a-lifetime experience. At dawn, GFNY cyclists take their places in their start corrals. The sunrise reveals the skyline of New York City to the south, and the picturesque and historic Hudson Valley to the north.

The course takes you through the historic Palisades and up Route 9W. After the initial 10 miles in northern New Jersey, you continue cycling north in New York State along tree lined roads, rolling hills, and speedy flats, at times so close to the banks of the historic Hudson river that you can reach out and touch it.

The climbing begins in earnest at Bear Mountain, where the medium course participants finish their day on the beautiful summit, and where the entire Hudson Valley is on display. Long course riders continue the race over several challenging climbs while winding through picturesque Rockland County back to the Palisades and with 2 miles to go tackle the final climb to the finish line in Fort Lee.

THE FINISH
The entire finish village is alive with music, photos, podium ceremonies and a well-earned post-race meal for the racers. The Drink Stand, Pasta Party, BBQ and Beer and Wine Garden are open to cyclists, families and spectators and have food and drinks available for purchase.

All this makes GFNY NYC an extraordinary, unforgettable bike party and the Mecca of GFNY.
