Fans & Supporters

At GFNY, we know the dedication to achieve goals and reach the finish line is not just solely the athlete's, but also involves family, partners, and friends - the people in our lives who support their athlete each day throughout the journey to the race’s start line and finish line - through the training, the planning, the logistics, the travel.

We want to bring the GFNY Supporters into the race week experience as much as possible! Below please find some important safety and logistics information, as well as helpful advice to make the race week experience as enjoyable as possible.

EXPO
Family members and friends are welcome to join GFNY riders at the packet pickup and expo.

COURSE
The best spots to cheer on your athlete:

  • Start, Fort Lee 7:00am – 7:20am watch in Fort Lee at the Lemoine Ave overpass
  • Bear Mountain 8:30am – 11:30am drive to Bear Mountain Inn ($10 parking), and cheer at the round about
  • Finish Village, Fort Lee 10:45am – 5:30pm Hudson Terrace at the GFNY Finish Line
Great spots to cheer on athletes, for fans without family members participating:
  • Any spots close to your home along the course: ridewithgps.com/routes/10596674
  • Dyckman Hill, parking available at Englewood Boat Basin, walk up to cheer cyclists

IMPORTANT: Some roads on the race course are fully closed to cars & general public, and some road are open but have traffic moderated. However, private support cars are PROHIBITED from driving on the race course at any point. Riders have full event support from the race. Imagine all 1000 riders having their own personal support car - the traffic it would create, the bad rider experience, and above all the unsafe conditions. Private support vehicles are not permitted and any riders having support cars causing unsafe conditions for other cyclists and traffic impacts will be disqualified from the race.

Volunteer

For supporters who want to be an even greater part of GFNY race weekend, we’d love your help, excitement and energy during the race as a volunteer! GFNY has a variety of volunteer roles, from packing goodie bags, to handing out race packets, to supporting the start line or finish line, or along the course at an aid station. Volunteer needs span the days before the race and race day itself; if you have a day with some time available, there is a volunteer shift that can be the right fit for you! Go GFNY Volunteers! Thank you!
